Altar Screens.....SOLD

I've mentioned before how I love to research renaissance and religious art. I am fascinated by the detail, color and layout. My latest interest is altar screens. I've wanted to paint one for some time, although I would never be able to replicate the size and intricacy of authentic screens. So, I painted my version on a 16 x 20 stretched canvas, mixed media including acrylics, artist papers, 1880's Bible pages, and metallic paint. I hope to paint more on larger surfaces in the future, I loved creating this one. I will be listing this on Ebay tonight (if you click on the picture, you can see a larger image). You can view my current paintings for sale by clicking**HERE**.

Paper Mosaic Saint

This is my newest creation....a paper mosaic Angel/Saint painting. I had so much fun doing this one, it is truly a labor of love with all the hours put into the paper work. This one features actual pages from an 1880's Bible I purchased at an antiques store. This painting is currently listed on Ebay, and I'm working on more in the same style. Fall is here!

My favorite season is finally here! I would be even happier if my allergies weren't so bad, but I can't have it all. I guess we'll be spending some time at our town's Fall festival this weekend, "The Black Walnut Festival". Fun for the kids with rides, entertainment, and crafts/art booths.
It is still very warm here, which I like. I would rather have a warmer Fall than a freezing cold one. Anyway, in honor of the season....I just listed my "Forest In Autumn" original abstract painting in my Etsy shop. Just click on the link in the right-hand column on my blog to visit my store. I'll be listing some Frida Kahlo prints soon! Till next time.....LoriAnn

I've been missing the creepy little cuties of the Posh Parade for a while. So, I've listed a few new prints in my Etsy shop. Each one is printed on an 8x10 inch heavy matte paper with a lovely white border. More to come! Till next time...

Renaissance Angel....

My love affair with the Renaissance continues. I've been studying the great artists of this era for quite some time. After much experimentation, I finally came up with a color combination using my acrylics that resemble oils. I can not use oil paints because of an allergy, but love the deep enchanting hues. I incorporated a landscape into the background of this painting. If you click on the image of the painting, you will see a larger image and more detail. I will be listing on Ebay tonight!
