Portrait of a Woman, Mixed Media Folk Art Painting...

As I continue studying art history, I will be painting as I go and posting the inspiration piece if possible. My purpose is not to copy the paintings from the great masters, but to learn from their technique, history, and passion. I will be adding my own touches, and changing elements in my interpretation as a mixed media Folk Art piece. My newest painting "Portrait of a Woman,with Bird", was inspired by "Head of a Mulatto Woman" by Joanna Mary (Boyce) Wells, 1861,shown below.
